Peruvian baked goods are among the most popular in Latin America; bakers are renowned for their creativity, the diversity of their products, and the harmony they achieve with various flavours. Peru's Louis Lesaffre Cup final was held on 14 July 2010, organised by the "Asociación Peruana de Empresarios de la Panadería y Pastelería" (ASPAN) and Alicorp. Candidates had eight hours to prepare a product that would seduce the jury members.
After the competition, the scores awarded by jury members were added up to determine the three best contestants, who would then go on to represent Peru at the Americas international selection round hold from 26-29 September 2010 at the IBIE trade show.
