The Young Bakery Hopeful


From Basse Normandie in France, Antonin RACINET, is already a formidable competitor. At 18, he can already be proud of his career. Winner of MJB in 2013, graduated of Caen bakery school, he now works in Paris under the authority of Frédéric Lalos (elected Meilleur Ouvrier de France Bakery in 1997) as part of his 1st year professional patent.
His participation in the Louis Lesaffre Cup will be a wonderful opportunity for him to gain experience and learn new technical gestures with the advice of the coach and the French team.

The national selection

The Louis Lesaffre Cup France national selection final was staged in Paris during the Fête du Pain. This bread festival on the Parvis in front of Notre Dame took place from Wednesday 8th to Sunday 11th May 2014. At stake for the winners, a ticket for the European Louis Lesaffre Cup selection, a qualifier for the 2016 Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie.

France’s national team has been chosen!  In front of an encouraging crowd and passing tourists, 12 regional candidates went head to head over 3 days in the marquee opposite Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. The three winners (see above) will therefore represent France during the Louis Lesaffre Cup European selection in 2015. A coach and three substitutes were chosen to support the team.

On Sunday 11th May, at the end of three days of fierce competition, the jury made up of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen of France) and Antoine Robillard, the 2014 Bakery Masters winner, announced their scores.
