Vietnam, August 2010, successful regional selection rounds, the first event of this type in Vietnam
The regional selections of the Louis Lesaffre Cup in Vietnam organized by Saf Viet Company occurred on the 25th of August in Ho Chi Minh City and 28th of August in Hanoi. These two events were a real success and gathered many influent people from the bakery field. This event was the first major bakery event in Vietnam.
Candidates from several major bread manufacturing companies of the country took this opportunity to show their ability to produce outstanding breads, proving that Vietnam knows what creativity and originality is all about.
For the first regional rounds, candidates came from the following companies: ABC Bakery, Big C Supermarket, Caravelle Hotel, Intercontinental Hotel Saigon, Sheraton Hanoi, Intercontinental Asiana Hanoi, Hoa Sua School, Sesame School, La Boulangerie d’Hue, Apple Tart bakery and Hoan Bakery Hanoi. 13 Candidates have been selected to go further to the national step which will occur in Ho Chi Minh City from the 14th December to the 16th December 2010.
The event will take place at Big C supermarket, in their An Lac premises. The event, occurring in a public place, will allow candidates to perform in front of a wide public, as the working and baking area is an open-view for the supermarket’s visitors to observe and enjoy the contest. At the end of these three days (December 2010), the best candidate of each category will be selected to go through the international contest in China in May 2011. These three candidates will constitute the national team of Vietnam!
