August 2009 - selection of the national team

The 8th edition of the INTERFOOD INDONESIA Show, running from 8th to 11th August, housed the national finals of the Louis Lesaffre Cup.

3 regional selection rounds organised in Bali, Bandung and Denpasar produced 9 finalists who then competed in the Bread, Viennese Pastry and Artistic Piece categories. The winning team will have a brilliant coach, Mr Richard Wentworth, to train them up before they compete in the Asian international selection rounds in Shanghai in May 2011.

Richard Wentworth, a brilliant coach for the winning team 

Richard has worked in France for 14 years in the Lesaffre Baking Center and regularly visits Indonesia, so he is very familiar with the Indonesian baking sector.
"Promoting the quality of Indonesian baking through the Louis Lesaffre Cup and bringing out new talents couldn't fail to appeal to me", says Richard Wentworth, who will be responsible for coaching the three Asian selection finalists. "The Indonesian bakers are excellent technicians, and I will give them that vital French Touch to round off their skills when they participate in the Asian international selection rounds for the 2011 Louis Lesaffre Cup."
