Two days of competition, hosted by the CREMAI Show in Casablanca, saw the 4 teams of the Africa Mediterranean zone in contention: Morocco, Algeria, Senegal and Turkey.
Following the competition, Senegal emerged the proud winner and will now head for the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie (Bakery World Cup), beating Morocco, the challenger team, by very few points.
Over and above the competition, the event was marked by a friendly atmosphere, especially between the participants. Like a brotherhood, the candidates from the different countries formed a close-knit community. The days were punctuated by meetings, discoveries and discussion.
This being the second time that the Senegal team had participated in the Louis Lesaffre Cup, it was able to capitalise on its first experience: its know-how, the originality of the local products and its organisation were the keys to victory.
Backed by a large number of supporters, including the Consul General of Senegal, the 3 members of the team proudly met the challenge!
This victory brought them enormous joy and great pride, which they expressed through the local folklore, a combination of dancing and good humour.
This is the first time that a team from Black Africa will be competing in the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie (Bakery World Cup) … A historic event, hailed by the Senegalese authorities when the team returned to the country!
